New Business Development Position Description
This position, with direct support from management finds new industries, improving or growing industries and begins the process of qualifying the prospects in that space. The position makes initial contact and builds relationships while learning of the requirements for each industry and prospect. Invites prospects to tour and visit with our team. Shares all pertinent prospect information with estimating team and management. Consistent follow up is critical to our success rates. Our six Core Values are how we have built a team like no other in Colorado. This person must be completely Committed (#2) and Responsible (#3), as the rest of the team is relying (#1) on them to create more partnerships and grow the overall company sales. In return, our team commits to all the Core Values, because we understand for the Sales position to be successful, we must perform to our maximum capability. This person will use information and leads gathered from our Content and Digital Media program. May be responsible for managing digital content and overall marketing content distribution. Flexibility in small manufacturing companies is imperative. Be willing to recognize your team members needs and chip in whenever possible. Be willing to perform tasks outside the traditional sales functions. Accurate reporting to management is required and meetings to discuss prospects is very regular. Detailed and timely data entry into Salesforce CRM is required. Not a remote position, when not visiting with prospects, this position is expected to be at the facility.
The ideal candidate would have at least 3 years’ experience in metal fabrication, Machining or stamping. Have at least 3 years’ experience researching new markets and customers, cold calling. The products and partners we work with have a high degree of technical requirements. The ideal candidate would have a technical or engineering background. Past experience in Contract Manufacturing. The ideal candidate must love manufacturing and be able to clearly explain why Manufacturing is so critical to the success of the US Economy.
